Mr. Burns has been an attorney in the Denver area since 1985. During that time, he has practiced primarily in the area of residential landlord /tenant law. Over that time, he has represented both landlords and tenants. From 2008-2013, Mr. Burns was a speaker at many landlord/tenant seminars sponsored by Sterling Education Services. From 1994 to the present, Mr. Burns has been a lawyer volunteer on the Channel 9 TV program called law line 9, in which the public calls in and asks legal questions to the attorneys.  Mr. Burns has also volunteered in many other activities that are sponsored by the Denver Bar Association and Colorado Bar Association. Besides practicing in the area of landlord/tenant law, Mr. Burns has represented many Debtors in Chapter 7 Bankruptcy cases.
